Mortem et Gloriam - Game 59 - 2023/04/21

Greetings!

After more than 2 years since my last game of Mortem et Gloriam, I have finally managed to play one! Let's hope it heralds the come back to regular battles.

Rob was my first opponent in 2023. For this battle I asked him to bring his veteran Mid-Republican Romans. Rob has just recently won a tournament with it, so I knew I am in trouble! But I also knew that he is going to help me to get back to speed after a break. And it is great to have a historical opponent too.

We played Maximus at 10,000 points per side. This is the snapshot of the army Rob brought:

Mortem et Gloriam - Game 25 - 2019/03/16

Hello!

Day three and game five! This time I was to play against Mid-Republican Roman army commanded by Leigh. I had a great pleasure to play against Leigh on numerous occasions but we haven't met on the battle field for a while. Hence I was looking forward to play against him even more, especially that Leigh often brings a different army to command. This time was not different. I was very curious about the game also because we had a good, historical match-up. For me that is always a bonus!

There were different flavors of the Roman armies in this tournament. I must admit that when I saw Leigh's army I thought I would like to play with such force myself! It looked to me that Leigh fully embraced the historical aspect of Mid-Republican Roman army. He designed his force around many small units, representing Hastati, Princies and Triari with good support of Velites. He also added some Italian allies and Spanish units to the mix. And ended up with no less than 17 units total!

Mortem et Gloriam - Game 13 - 2018/10/10

Greetings!

It has been a while since my last game so I was very happy that the opportunity presented itself to take the army of Seleucids again. This time against Mid-Republican Romans with Numidian Allies (around 200 BCE)! Perfect historical match up and the one I was looking forward to as well. It was due to the fact that my opponent, Rob, has just finished painting his Roman army and we tried to find time to test it.

I must say that the army looks fantastic! It was absolute pleasure to look at it from the other side of the table. It is also quite tempting to run by myself, if only to try a different style of warfare.

It was also kind of a rematch because I played against Rob during WinterCon where he brought his medieval French army and won! I was eager to do better this time for sure!

I suggested that since it was announced that the tournament during upcoming CanCon2019 will be at 11,000 points we should try that as well. Rob agreed! Here are the details of the force he commanded:
