Game 119 - Kingdoms of Men - 2019/08/10

Greetings!

I was very interested in getting a re-match against Simon so when he had a bit of time to play again, I took the opportunity immediately!

This time, however, Simon was to bring his army from the mythical city of Dobrensk. Somewhere in the North, where there is snow and there are plenty of Monsters!

Because of that the people of Dobrensk are hardy folk and had to rely on themselves to protect their families. No wonder then that the nobility is often represented by the regiments of knights while each citizen is well prepared to wield all sorts of nasty weapons to the fight.

Here are the details of the army based on Kingdoms of Men army list at 2000 points:

Game 74 - Kingdoms of Men - 2018/01/12

Greetings!

The beginning of a new year is always great for the players in Oz because it is a time of anticipation and counting days to CanCon - huge gaming convention. Second year in the row CanCon will also host Clash of Kings 2018 tournament for Kings of War players. Hence a lot of them are busy now with painting or practicing or both!

It happened that my good friend, Michael, needed to test his most recent version of Kings of War army. I have not played since Masters so some practice would only mean good thing for me too. We thus set up a game on Universal Battle!

After our last game Michael decided that he can bring back some Rifles and here are the details of his army list:

Kingdoms of Men - Army List

Clash of Kings Australia 1 - Game 7 - Kingdoms of Men - 2017/03/04

Greetings!

Time for the game 7, the last game of the Australian Clash of Kings! After game 6 I was talking with my good friend and frequent opponent, Michael aka Darth Sabre, about our adventures so far and we joked it would be fun if we were paired with each other for the last game. And it actually happened! I was very happy because of that as although we played against each other often (you can check games 4, 6, 11, 24 and 38 in the Reports section) it was the first time when I could play against Michael and his beautiful army in real life, not online.

Michael practiced with and refined his army over many games and quite a number of the tournaments. He is constantly searching for the perfect balance but the main theme and core units are still present. The army looks fantastic and for me it is the archetype of Kingdoms of Men force with number of units from troops to hordes and very nice variety of types too. Here are the details of the army list Michael brought to Clash of Kings:

Kingdoms of Men - Army List

40 Foot Guard, Horde, Brew of Strength (+1 CS)
- Ballistae, War Engine
- Mounted Scouts, Troop
- Mounted Hero

40 Arquebusiers, Horde, +1 to Hit

Game 38 - Kingdoms of Men - 2016/12/10

Greetings!

It's been a few months since I played against Michael aka Darth Sabre and he was victorious. You can read the report from that battle here. I hoped for a re-meatch and I guess Micheal wanted to make sure that I know it was not a coincidence! We thought we would have had an opportunity to play against each other during Kings of Cro-Nation 1 event but it was not to be. Fortunately, there is always Universal Battle!

Michael brought his trustworthy Kingdoms of Men he has some really nice results with. But this time with a bit of a different unit set up:

KoW Game 24 - Kingdoms of Men - 2016/08/14

Greetings!

I had another opportunity to play against my friend, Michael, who used his Basileans last time. We played over Universal Battle again, although knowing what Michael is assembling and planning to get for his KoM army, I can't wait and see it in real life!

I noticed that armies of Men in various systems often are portrayed as average. On the surface they don't seem to have any particular strength or eye catching center piece. Somehow, however, I always found them a very difficult enemy to defeat. It may be due to their numbers or maybe simply to the fact that in order to make the best out of these forces one has to play very well!

At the same time I was always jealous about the fact that they have such a huge range of choices available, also in terms of models. That's why I was curious what Michael was going to choose for his army and here are the details of his list:

Kingdoms of Men - Army List

20 Foot Guard, Regiment - 135
- 5 Mounted Scouts, Troop - 100
- 5 Mounted Scouts, Troop - 100
- General on Winged Beast, Hero - 190

KoW Game 22 - Kingdoms of Men & Forces of Basilea Allies - 2016/07/02

Greetings!

I had a great pleasure to play against Mr. Devean and his Samurai Tengu themed army that was composed mainly out of Kingdom of Men list but included Forces of Basilea allies too. He suggested we play a very long time ago and I would like to apologize that I kept him waiting for so long. However, he is a very patient person that also aided him greatly in the game!

I am looking forward to the day when his army will be fully assembled and painted as the work he has done on some miniatures is very nice already! But he informed me that he hasn't received all the orders yet so it may take some time to finish this project. In the meantime we have Universal Battle

In addition to the fact that the army has a very nice theme of Japanese Samurai force with some mythological creatures present, it also was composed in a way that made the allied contingent adding some flavor as well as a dangerous force on the battle field.

Samurai Tengu - Army List

40 Pole-Arms Block, Horde, Fire Oil - 170
- 5 Mounted Scouts, Troop - 100
- 5 Mounted Scouts, Troop - 100

40 Arquebusiers, Horde, Brew of Keen-eyeness - 270
- Army Standard Bearer, Mounted, Boomistck - 95

KoW Game 16 - Kingdoms of Men - 2016/04/08

Greetings!

I keep being lucky and get to play against new opponents and new armies. It is a great experience indeed  because I am happy to meet new players. At the same time it is even more exciting to face the challenge of playing against a force I haven't met on the battle field before. It means that I need to come up with the plan on the spot and put it to the test immediately!

This time I had an honor to play against Meniskusmike from Mantic forum. We managed to find a suitable date for both of us despite quite a significant time zone difference. Mic brought his Kingdoms of Men army and it was also the first time when I was about to play against the force with an allied contingent! Mic added two regiments of Brotherhood knights that really added nice flavor to his army and reinforced Crusader theme I imagined it might use in terms of modelling project.

Mic was very kind to provide details on his army list before the battle and here it is:

Kingdoms of Men

40 Footguard, Horde, Dwarven Ale - 235
- 10 Militia Mob*  - 50
- 10 Militia Mob*  - 50
