Game 132 - Orcs and Goblins - 2015/03/13

Game 5 - Blood and Glory - Dan - Orcs and Goblins

Game 5 was Blood and Glory scenario. It was modified in the way that a player received bonus points (400VP) for breaking the opponent but the game continued for 6 turns as normal. If second player broke his opponent too he also received bonus points (200VP). This time I was fighting against Orcs and Goblins led by Black Orc Warboss Dan!

Dan had an army that looked to me as a classic Orcs and Goblins force, 2 big blocks of Orc infantry, small regiment of Night Goblins, support in the form of Wolf Riders and 4 chariots as well as 3 war machines and 2 manglers plus, of course, a nice selection of characters. Game 113 - Orcs & Goblins - 2014/07/02

Greetings!

My "regular" sparring partner, Eastern Barbarian (known was wardancer on warhammer.org.uk) is preparing his O&G army for the upcoming tournament and wanted to test yet another of his unorthodox armies. This time he lined up some Orcs and Goblins but with double Wyvern riders! We played with closed lists so I didn't know about his magic items and the list below is the one I have obtained after the game. Bear that in mind for the reminder of the report! The tournament he is going to attend is using Swedish composition too. In addition, there is no mysterious terrain. His army list with details was as follows:

Battle 4 - Dawn Attack - Orcs & Goblins

Dawn attack was chosen as a first game of day 2 and I think it is very appropriate! I was about to face Orcs and Goblins led by Chris. Greenskins are not very good match up for me. I haven't been able to play well against them so far although I was better equipped to fight trolls than last time.

Chris surprised me with a themed army. He chose Grimgor Ard Boyz as a reference and although he didn't include that special character he built his army around that idea.

Battle 5 - Battle for the Pass - Orcs & Goblins

In the game 5 I faced Garry and his greenskins. I had a pleasure to play against Garry at Wintercon some time ago, when he used his Ogres. Garry is a very good and calculating player so I knew I am up to a serious challenge. We even tried to set up a date for a friendly game before the tournament but due to my crazy schedule I was unable to find enough free time to do so. Fortunately, we were granted an opportunity during the tournament!

The scenario had a following modification:

3 Objective coins are placed on the horizontal centreline (24" from the board edge) they are place 18" away from one another. Before scouts and vanguard The Objectives coins scatter D6" (they stop 1" away from impassable terrain.) Each objective is worth 200pts if held at the end of the game. The closest unit within 3" holds the objective. If the distance is equal the unit with the most ranks, if they are equal the objective is contested.

After a little break I had another opportunity to play a game. This time against Squigkikka (or Gutrippa for those who play at UB) and his all Goblin army.
