Game 111 - The Herd - 2019/03/11

Greetings!

I had a great opportunity to play against a new opponent with a completely new type of an army to what I have been playing against recently.

I played against The Herd commanded by Yan. Yan contacted me some time ago as he was looking for opponents to play on Universal Battle. We finally found the time suitable for both of us and I was really looking forward to this game.

If I remember correctly, I have played against the Herd only once so far. I was very curious what type of an army Yan is going to bring to the field. I must admit that due to my inexperience in fighting against this faction I didn't even know what to expect! Maybe apart from Stampede :)

Here are the details of the army at 2000 points I was about to play against:

The Herd - Army List

40 Spirit Walkers, Horde, Infantry, Pathfinder, Thunderous Charge (1), Aegis of the Elohi

Game 109 - Forces of Nature - 2019/02/16

Greetings!

In my last game before CanCon2019 I once again played against Jeff. I had a difficult decision to make, I had to choose between two events at the same time. This year I chose Mortem Et Gloriam. However, I still could help Jeff to test his army one more time before could decide on the final version of it.

This time Jeff decided to trade the speed of the Forest Shamblers, in particular in formation, for high defense of Earth Elementals. Hydras were gone too, with 3 Beasts of Nature instead. Also, there were Druids this time and together with Forest Wardens this army had quite a large number of Drain Lice spells. Here are the details:

Forces of Nature - Army List

- Beast of Nature,  Monster, Crushing Strength (2), Breath Attack (10)

Game 101 - Night Stalkers - 2018/11/26

Greetings!

As the deadline to submit army lists for Australian Masters was getting closer, the preparation intensified.  I tried to find time for more frequent games so that Jeff could finalize the version of his force. This time he decided to test yet another idea, Night Stalkers with Abyssal Dwarves allies.

Allied contingent is always an interesting option. For some, it may merely be a way to address the issue they perceive they chosen faction has. For others, it is a great opportunity to further personalize the army they play with. Even more so if that contributes to new modelling and painting projects.

Whatever the reason, it almost always makes the army look more varied as by default there is higher degree of diversity thanks to the presence of different units.

Here are the details of the army Jeff took this time:

Night Stalkers - Army List

40 Scarecrows, Infantry, Horde, Shambling
- Void Lurker, Hero, Monster, Crushing Strength (2), Fly, Regeneration (5+), Thunderous Charge (1), This unit is not Stealthy, Darklord’s Onyx Ring
