Thank you for your comment! I am ...HI frikimanras!

Thank you for your comment! I am glad you liked the report and yes, I do come back to older games sometimes. :)

Thank you for your question and detailed analysis, I do appreciate that a lot!

I am afraid your third assumption is not correct, however. One-inch distance applies only to the position of your units in relation to that of the opponent's. It means that your own units may be closer to each other.

Thanks to that I was able to move my Silver Breeze to touch the Drakons, who then moved back 5" and were perfectly behind.

What is more, if you would like to be absolutely precise about the distance, both units would not even touch each other. It is because the width of the base is in metric system, 5cm. So the distance for Drakons to clear the Silver Breeze base is exactly 10cm. While 5" is approximately 10.16cm (if you assume 1 inch is approximately 2.54cm) :)

Thanks to the above the manoeuvre I performed was possible.

Cheers!Swordmasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09735639525894232458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3921669614910911724.post-85759813659185949422019-10-01T02:36:24.528+10:002019-10-01T02:36:24.528+10:00I don´t know if you read old post comments but I m...I don´t know if you read old post comments but I must say that your left flank defense in this battle was incredible. Elegant and effective at same time. Congrats.
But I can´t understand how do you did that maneuvers. Correct me if I´m wrong:
- Drakons have a 150x50 base (so 2 inches deep)
- Silver breeze have a 125x50 base (so 2 inches deep)
- You must keep one-inch distance between units
Keeping that in mind your first unit front (say drakons) must be 2+1+2=5 inches away from your second unit rear (say silver breeze). As you must land ones inch away from that point you should do 6 inches movement to put your drakons behind your silver breeze but you only have a 10 inches movement, which means 5 inches back movement doing these maneuvers impossible.
Where is my mistake?
Thanks in advance
frikimanrashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15993817402196727447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3921669614910911724.post-27054178957735812232018-04-14T14:53:40.506+10:002018-04-14T14:53:40.506+10:00Hi Dan!

My current concern is that it will stand out among the units and will attract more attention than it is required. Perhaps I will be able to use it to my advantage. However, one of the principles of MSU was to have units of more or less equal value/threat potential, so that the enemy cannot focus on a single target.

At the same time I was not good enough at creating opportunities for flank charges. Having a unit that can potentially break through on the charge is something I decided to try fro that reason.

That's a good question about the Drakons. I didn't check, I didn't think about that option unfortunately. I tried to estimate the distance based on screenshots and it seems like they may have been too far away. However, I should have checked that!

Thanks again for the comments! Hopefully, I will have the chance to play some KoW soon!

Cheers! The list won best overall at the US Masters and had a bone giant, chariot, bone dragon heavy approach. It seems like it’d be very versatile and be a lot of fun to use! I’m sure you enjoyed the regiment of sliver wind cav as well as the flying hero that allowed you time to reposition. Having a unit that can do as much damage on a charge as your cav regiment should bring lots of benefits. The long range of their charge and ability to rout many smaller units in one go allows you to possibly charge deep into opponent territory, remove a smaller unit, and reform to project threat from behind enemy lines. Adding nimble to the unit increases this threat but is more expensive and loses you a unit strength so definitely pros and cons.

Were the drakons on the left flank out of range on the revenant horde’s rear? They probably were but I’m assuming it was pretty close since the character with wings made it into that combat.

I’m looking forward to your continued play with this list. Should make for fun reading!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04880233343826942633noreply@blogger.com
