Bases for Kings of War army - Part 2

Greetings!

Some time ago I wrote an article about the approach to basing my army for Kings of War. Here is the link to it:

Back then I had to make a decision what to do next. First, how to proceed with painting of the "Frozen" ground and how to spice it up further. Fortunately, greenstuffworld helped again! I contacted them directly asking if they plan to release any new textured pins and they asked me what would I like to have. I mentioned that some kind of ancient Greek mosaic type would have been fantastic, as I was thinking about creating "Ancient ruins" theme.

To my great surprise and joy they actually made such a textured pin and as soon as it was available I immediately ordered it with some more sculpting material. Thanks a lot guys, that is simply amazing to know that the company listens to the customers and creates products based on their suggestions!

KoW Game 22 - Kingdoms of Men & Forces of Basilea Allies - 2016/07/02

Greetings!

I had a great pleasure to play against Mr. Devean and his Samurai Tengu themed army that was composed mainly out of Kingdom of Men list but included Forces of Basilea allies too. He suggested we play a very long time ago and I would like to apologize that I kept him waiting for so long. However, he is a very patient person that also aided him greatly in the game!

I am looking forward to the day when his army will be fully assembled and painted as the work he has done on some miniatures is very nice already! But he informed me that he hasn't received all the orders yet so it may take some time to finish this project. In the meantime we have Universal Battle

In addition to the fact that the army has a very nice theme of Japanese Samurai force with some mythological creatures present, it also was composed in a way that made the allied contingent adding some flavor as well as a dangerous force on the battle field.

KoW Game 21 - Night Stalkers - 2016/06/19

Greetings!

I had a fantastic opportunity to play against Jules aka HaggisMacbeth (for wargamerau and Mantic forum members). He started building a great looking Night Stalkers army and he is sharing pictures of his amazing creations on forums. If you haven't seen his topics yet you should give yourself a favor and check them, here are the links:

You can already read his reports from our game there and I must say it is always great to have both sides telling the story of the same battle but from two different points of view. In this case, quite literally as Jules took a lot of cool pictures during the game too!

As he wanted to play with painted models only it was a game at lower points, 1400 to be precise. Here is the army list Jules brought for his first Kings of War game!

Night Stalkers - Army List

20 Spectres, Regiment - 140

Kins of Dave 4 - Summary

Greetings!

My first KoW tournament was over so it's time for some summary. First of all, many thanks to Dave C. for organizing the event. I remember him being responsible for many great events for Warhammer and I happy to see him stepping up and doing it again for KoW. With such an experienced TO players in Canberra can be sure that there will be plenty and regular high quality events to attend to! Well done, Dave! I am definitely looking forward to attending more of your tournaments and I hope time will permit that.

Many thanks to 3D6 shop crew as well. They were hosting many activities that day so it was nice that they found a few tables for us. They provided all the mats and terrain we needed for that small tournament. Thanks a lot!

In the last game of the tournament I was about to play against Abyssal Dwarfs. The army I have played only once so far. While it is better than nothing it is not much of a huge experience either.

Kings of Dave 4 - Game 2 - Empire of Dust - 2016/05/27

Greetings!

Game 2 of Kings of Dave was against Luke and his Empire of Dust. I haven't had a chance to play against him before so it was a great pleasure to meet a new opponent too!

My first encounters against this army were not particularly successful. I hoped it was due to the fact these were my first games in Kings of War and was looking forward to the opportunity to see if I learned enough in the meantime to prevail against my nemesis!

Luke brought the army that had some familiar elements but also contained quite a few completely new units to me. I was thus very curious to see what they are capable of and how to deal with them.
